Translation
- By a written notification is here indicated a gift of land that is at Weeley which a certain faithful woman, Eadgifu by name, with her husband and also with the authorisation and agreement of King Edward, gave to the brethren of the Church of St Paul in praise of God and that same teacher of the gentiles and she granted [this] in perpetuity for release from her sins. If, however, anyone should presume to violate this, may he pay eternal penalties in the company of Judas the betrayer, unless he should quickly make a sufficiently worthy penance.
