Comment: a.k.a. London, Guildhall, 22501 Liber A (or Pilosus). Continued into fourteenth century. The leaves containing pre-Conquest texts are all numbered in arabic figures on the recto, these have been superseded by roman numerals, the same figure being used for facing pages. Thus 38v and 39v of the old foliation, used here, are now both 39.

Writ of King Edward declaring that his priests in St Pauls's minster shall be entitled to sake and soke within borough and without, and to as good laws as they ever had in the time of any king or any bishop; and they shall not receive into their community any more priests than their estates can bear and they themselves desire. s. xiii med.
